Yes ! you heard it right. Now you will be able to get free wifi from a garbage bin. Just throw garbage in the bins is all you have to do to get free wifi. This initiative is founded by Prateek Agarwal and Raj Desai just in order to bring a cleaner and more hygenic environment around us.

Two commerce graduates Prateek Agarwal and Raj Desai decided to bring some change in the thinking of people by giving them free wifi in exchange for a more cleaner environment.

What is Wifi Bin Technology ?

Wifi Bin is an iniative done by two commerce graduates Prateek Agarwal and Raj Desai. In this technology all you have to do is throw some garbage in the wifi bin and you will get a unique code. Now that unique code will help you access the free internet through wifi.

In the words of Prateek Agarwal, “When somebody dumps trash into a dustbin the bin flashes a unique code, which can be used to gain access to free WiFi”.

The duo travelled various countries like Finland, Denmark and Singapore and realised that our Indian cities are nowhere as clean as these countries. And in way to bring change in the thinking of people they introduced this concept. Moreover, they also took some help regarding this project from Finland, Denmark and Singapore to  build a system similar to that.

This Wifi Bin Project is showcased as well as applied at various weekender festivals held in Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore, but at present it is not operative.

The founders of this self funded project, Prateek Agarwal and Raj Desai says that they have received various queries regarding the project from GAIL and are in talks with them.

“We wanted to change the attitude of the people and how things are structured, thus affecting an individual’s behaviour,” says Raj Desai.

This Wifi Bin venture was also showcased at “Networked India” , a unique initiative Ericsson and CNN-IBN that aims to introduce latest innovations in the field of technology and connectivity.
