Scientists all over the world are working on a revolutionary device to hack into Stephen Hawkin’s brain. Scientists all over the world are planning to work on a groundbreaking device which will allow them to hack into the brain of one of the most intelligent scientists of the world Mr. Stephen Hawkings.
Scientists are working with 70 year old Hawking at Standford University and are developing an iBrain which is a tool that picks up brain signals or waves and communicates with other people via computer, reported by Daily mail.
70 year old, Stephen Hawking was unable to speak for about last 30 years due to his very serious motor neurone disease which is slowly overtaking his body and weakening his muscles. In fact , this disease is ravaging his complete body. Hawking today uses a computer that has a robot- like voice system and communicates with other people with the help of it. But due to her motor neurone disease , Hawking’s body condition is worsening on daily basis.
This new revolutionary device iBrain is developed by Philip Low, a professor at the Standford university. The most important and interesting part is that it is very small that is about the size of matchbox and is very light too. The device has been made very light so that it will not weigh down Stephen’s head.
Philips Low, also said that this device iBrain will monitor him in the real time.
“We’d like to find a way to bypass his body, pretty much hack his brain. This is very exciting for us because it allows us to have a window into the brain,” Low said.
“We’re building technology that will allow humanity to have access to the human brain for the first time.”
“The emergence of such biomarkers opens the possibility to link intended movements to a library of words and convert them into speech, thus providing motor neurone sufferers with communication tools more dependent on the brain than on the body,” he said.
Moreover, Phillips will unveil his latest inventions and findings in the coming month at a conference in Cambridge .And yes, you can get a chance to see the demonstration of this technology with Hawking.
Another good thing is that , this device iBrain could also be used to treat the disorders and possibly help to quickly diagnose autism, Daily Mail reported.
